  • Age of Conan dawning on Xbox 360?

    Does a secondhand account based on hearsay mean the game is coming to the console? Answer: No. But it certainly raises the tantalizing possibility that it might. Currently, the only MMORPG currently slated for Microsoft's console is Final Fantasy XI. Besides being merely a souped-up version of a game that's been available on the PS2 and PC for years, FFXI doesn't have much appeal beyond the Japanese RPG crowd.

    The people from Funcom put in a lot of work in designing Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures' female members. According to Funcom, they created 2,500 female exclusive animations, new emotes, and specific clothing and armor for these deadly ladies.

    Powerpoints - Imagine an MMO achievements system where you can use the achievements you've earned to buy new weapons and armor. That's exactly what this planned update is all about. You will get powerpoints for everything, from in-game behavior, to simply subscribing to the game. The press release also teases that "Powerpoints may even allow you to level faster!"

    The Internet has gotten a little more barbaric. Funcom has announced that the official Web site for Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures has been redone and is now up and running. The Internet destination has the latest news on the game, interviews with the game's developers, various screenshots and videos of the game in action, and more.

    Though hardly the center of world finance, the Norwegian capital of Oslo does have its own stock exchange. So it's little wonder, then, that one of the country's top game companies will soon be listed on the national market of the oil- and fjord-rich country.


  • THQ licenses Conan

    The THQ-Paradox deal is a multiyear agreement for PC, mobile, handheld, and current- and next-gen console games. "THQ's proven success with high-profile licensed properties will ensure Conan games deliver an interactive experience worthy of a truly legendary character," said Fredrik Malmberg, head of licensing and creative affairs at Paradox Entertainment.

    Age of Conan: The Hyborian Adventures is looking good. They have released new screenshots and even a trailer video. The graphics are decent for an MMORPG although it seems a bit rough at times. The game play we hope will be awesome as the backstory of Conan is just awesome.

    Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures for the PC is still the top-selling PC video game on the NPD North America charts for the week ending on June 7. This is followed by Mass Effect for the PC and Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures.
